Warranty
All Montreore jewellery is covered by our 6-Month Jewellery Warranty from the date of purchase.
The warranty covers:
- Manufacturing defects
- Faulty clasps, closures or fittings
- Stones becoming loose or falling out due to a manufacturing fault
- Structural defects that occur under normal and intended use
If your item is found to have a manufacturing defect covered by our warranty, Montreore may, at our discretion, repair or replace the item with the same or an equivalent product where available.
What the Warranty Does Not Cover
The warranty does not cover damage or changes resulting from:
- Normal wear and tear
- Scratches, dents, bending or physical impact
- Accidental damage
- Loss or theft of the jewellery
- Damage caused by improper use or storage
- Exposure to chemicals, perfumes, cosmetics or cleaning products
- Damage caused by swimming, bathing or prolonged exposure to water
- Tarnishing, discolouration or fading caused by environmental exposure or wear
- Damage caused by resizing, modification or repairs performed by a third party
- Damage caused by failure to follow the recommended jewellery care instructions
Gold-plated jewellery naturally experiences gradual wear over time. The rate at which plating changes or wears depends on frequency of use, skin chemistry, moisture, friction and exposure to chemicals. This is considered normal wear and is not a manufacturing defect.
Making a Warranty Claim
If you believe your jewellery has a manufacturing defect, please contact us within the warranty period.
Please provide:
- Your order number or proof of purchase
- A description of the issue
- Clear photographs or videos showing the problem
We may request that the item be returned to us for inspection before determining whether the issue is covered by the warranty.
If the issue is confirmed as a manufacturing defect, we will advise you of the available remedy.
Warranty claims are assessed individually and are subject to our inspection.
Jewellery Care
At Montreore, we want you to enjoy your jewellery for as long as possible. Each piece is made with care and should be treated gently to maintain its appearance and finish.
Proper care can help maintain the appearance and finish of your Montreore jewellery.
Keep Away From Chemicals
Avoid direct contact with:
- Perfume and fragrances
- Body sprays
- Lotions and creams
- Makeup
- Hairspray
- Cleaning products
- Chlorine and other chemicals
Apply perfumes, lotions and other personal-care products first and allow them to dry before putting on your jewellery.
Water & Moisture
Although some Montreore jewellery may be designed to be water-resistant, we recommend removing your jewellery before:
- Showering or bathing
- Swimming
- Using a spa or hot tub
- Exercising
- Sleeping
Repeated exposure to water, moisture, chlorine, salt water and chemicals may accelerate wear or affect the finish, particularly on gold-plated pieces.
Cleaning
Gently clean your jewellery with a soft, dry jewellery cloth.
Do not use abrasive materials, harsh chemicals, polishing compounds or strong jewellery cleaners unless specifically recommended for the particular material.
For gold-plated jewellery, avoid vigorous rubbing as this may accelerate the natural wear of the plating.
Storage
When not wearing your jewellery:
- Store each piece in a clean, dry place.
- Keep jewellery separated to prevent scratches and tangling.
- Use the Montreore jewellery pouch or box where possible.
- Avoid storing jewellery in humid areas such as bathrooms.
- Keep pieces away from direct sunlight and excessive heat.
Wearing Your Jewellery
Remove your jewellery before activities that may cause impact, friction or excessive exposure to moisture or chemicals.
Avoid wearing rings while lifting heavy objects, working with tools, gardening, cleaning or participating in activities where the jewellery may be scratched, bent or damaged.
Important Information
Jewellery is a delicate product and its appearance will naturally change with regular use. Gold plating, in particular, will gradually wear depending on how frequently the jewellery is worn and the conditions it is exposed to.
Following these care instructions can help extend the life and appearance of your jewellery, but it cannot prevent normal wear indefinitely.
